A certified installer will be in touch to arrange a convenient time to come to your farm to set up the equipment and get everything working. Once the equipment is in place you will start receiving text recommendations and your personalised log-in details within 2 weeks.
3. What happens if something stops working? If you have any problems call us on 0800 37 34 36. Some problems we can sort out over the phone. If required a certified service agent will come out to your farm to repair or replace any defective equipment.
4. What if I don’t have cellphone coverage? To operate, Re:Gen requires enough cellphone coverage to send and receive text messages – usually 1-2 bars signal strength on your cellphone. So even though you may not be able to make voice calls on your cellphone on your farm there may be enough coverage for the cellular Re:Gen option. If you don’t have sufficient cellphone coverage there are other options that use a wireless network and link into your broadband connection.
5. How much does it cost? Please contact us for an up-to-date price list detailing product prices and any current special offers. 6. Is it beneficial to have the Aquaflex sensor as well? An Aquaflex sensor is a direct measure of soil moisture and soil temperature in the area it is installed. It provides very useful trend information on these measures, and the information can be used for other farm decisions such as the best time to plant a crop. The soil moisture value is expressed as a percentage and is not directly related to the available deficit in mm i.e. 20% soil moisture is not equal to 20mm deficit. The relationship between the two measures is different for every soil type and requires careful calibration. |
7. Why pond level is needed? The pond level does not have an impact on the daily recommendation but if the pond level is low the recommendation includes a reminder to check the level to ensure there is sufficient effluent in the pond. Also, when the pond level reaches an upper level specified by the farmer a text alert is sent.
8. Why does Re:Gen have to be farm specific? One of the key measurements to generate the daily effluent irrigation recommendation is the amount of rainfall over the past 24hrs. This is very localised and therefore has to be recorded at each farm. In addition the recommendation takes into account the type of irrigator on the farm. Two neighbouring farms may have the same available deficit but one may be able to irrigate as they have a low application rate irrigator and the neighbour can’t as their irrigator has a higher minimum application rate. 9. What can I do if I don’t receive a recommendation? On occasions, due to circumstances beyond our control, the data is not received into the central database so the daily recommendation can’t be generated. Generally these outages only last for one day and the service will resume the next day. There is an option to log onto the website and generate the recommendation yourself – you will need to have an estimate of rainfall over the past 24hrs. |
